This project was a bit ambitious for me, and involved machining, building a jig and welding... the swingarm takes a few pounds off the stock swingarm weight, and should aid in handling, but if it doesn't, I can always go back to stock!! I started by redesigning the stock swingarm in cad, calculating the stiffness of the aluminum and figuring out the properties, designing the axle blocks was pretty easy and I had a friend machine them. The whole assembly was then tig welded on a steel plate to keep everything flat. I think the next one I build will use a 3d jig assembly to speed that process up, but this was a learning experience, as you can't get better at doing what you do until you DO what you do.
